Kelesa Shopping & Other Update

Did my first water change and tank cleaning today! Changes around 150L waters, WOW! Sounds a lot but actually after calculation, just around 18% of the total amount of water I got in the tank!

Then I went to the nearby LFS for 'shopping' again and met the owner of the shop this time. He was doing water changing too and I noticed he added in aquarium salt (quite a lot too), which I read it on arowana-care site. Will try get some of it soon for next water change. Also the black water extract, which they said can calm the arowana down during water change.

I saw the reserved kelesa there again, the shop owner told me that the buyer not yet collected the kelesa after like 2 weeks! (I saw it weeks before Chinese New Year!) He told me that he can sell this kelesa to me first if I'm interested since the buyer not yet shown up and also not paid any deposit to reserve the kelesa too! I told him I'll come to buy it next week if it's still there. Also, I saw one nice yellow tail too which I intended to get too. Sigh, which first? Since if both of them are put together in one tank, they'll fight each other... Well, let my 'senses' tell me what to do next trip I come here again. The owner also introduce spotted kelesa to me which he told me that it's the "most fierce" amond the other type. Hmm, should I wait for the new shipment to arrive then decide then what to get? LOL!

Well, am doing some design and calculation now on new aquarium stand as the one I'm having now not so "steady" from my observation as the tanks weights more than 800KG easily. I might consider to lower the overflow to 1 ft to reduce the total weight to around 500KG - 600KG... Let see my final decision soon on my updates here on this blog!

Cycling Aquarium

Finally done the power supply wiring for the aquarium tank today and also got some fishes transferred to the tank temporary from my brother in law for tank cycling. Here's the pictures I took just now...

Filtering System Installed!

This morning the 'expert' called me and informing me that they are going to do the filter system for me today. Nice! I quickly assigning jobs for my workers and went back home to see the installation works.

They spent around 3 hours to set everything up, looks easy but there are lots of small details to take care of. I asked a couple of questions about cleaning and maintaining the filters too.

Will 'cycle' the tank first these few days and will continue do my 'Kelesa shopping' too.

Aquarium Cover

Sent the aquarium cover for some repair and modification works for easy maintenance and installation of light fittings later day.

Hope can post the final setup photos by next week as the filter will be setup tomorrow or next Monday.

Quotation & Appointment

At last the aquarium expert guy called on the quotation. Guess how much? Will talk about it next time once the filter is set and running, probably next Monday after my trip back from Kuching.

Been doing some 'arowana shopping' lately and I think the LFS near Pujut Permyjaya provides the best quality arowana so far.

Will try to clean the aquarium once more before the expert comes fixing the filter. Also to modify the aquarium top cover a bit.

Inspection by the Expert

Finally, the expert comes and inspected the aquarium.

However, still need to wait till next week since he's still busy this week. Fully booked!?!

Hopefully everything can be setup and functioning by next week.

Aquarium Rack

Just some quick updates. I'm still waiting for the aquarium guy to come and setting up the filtering system.

Bought the rack for the aquarium this afternoon. I hope it can hold the weight of the fully filled aquarium which is estimated at least 700kg. Will install the rack later when the aquarium guy come cos need to do some modification to the board and when got enough people to help carrying the aquarium. I can't do it myself for sure. :)

Arrival of the aquarium...

Today is New Year 2009, and with help of my brother-in-law and my worker, we managed to transported the aquarium to my place.


A very spacious aquarium huh?! 6 x 2 x 2 feet!

For today, we managed to put it in order and done the initial cleaning. There are still a lot to be done, some repair and some modification. Will continue it in next few days.
