Water Change & Tests

Done water change today, a bit more this time because I also rinsed half of the Bio Mats too. Might change some of these Bio Mats to ceramic rings soon, my next plan.

Tested pH and Ammonia (new test kit I bought yesterday as picture attached), and the results are 6.8 and 0 respectively.

These days the weather a bit hotter than usual. Maybe summer is coming. Kelesa's home shows 29.5-31°C. There are sunshine at part of the sump filter in the morning too.

New Kits on the Block

Azoo pH Down Rocks!

Just got this Azoo pH down solution and added into Kelesa's home.

Just after a minute, pH down from 7.12 to 6.75! It works!

I remembered my last pH down solutions not changing any pH at all after applying. I guess sometimes you need to give "branded" stuff for your pets too!

Azoo KH Test Kit

I read from internet that if you have difficulty changing pH for your water, maybe it's because your water KH is too high. Thus I bought this Azoo KH test kit and try.

Well, following the instructions, and test drop by drop.... nothing happened to the colour of the water. After 20 drops, I gave up. I'm sure my water reading not up to 20dKH!

Will try later time.

New Food

I must admit that Arowana really a big eater! Thus to be more "cost saving" and also for the good on Kelesa's growth, I bought and tried this Azoo 9-in-1 Arowana Sticks.

It says with this and that nutrients and also boost immune system and digestive system. I'm sure Kelesa will split it out after tasting it, but will continue feeding Kelesa on this until it accepted the sticks. It's good for Kelesa in long run too!

Tank mate in Memory

This morning to my surprise one of Kelesa's tank mate, Lampang died!

From my observation, there are no sign of injuries. Hunger? Not possible! So what could be the cause? Hmm... no idea!

pH now around 7.25. Repack a small bag of coral chips and put into the sump filter just as buffer.

Just measured my Kelesa, it's now 8 inches in length! 3 inches in a month plus time!

Added black water and PSB bacteria to the tank today. Also taking out the remaining 1 bag of coral chips and substitute with ceramic rings. Will check the pH tomorrow when got time.

New Tank Mate - Oscar

New tank mate to Kelesa's home, an injured Oscar from my brother-in-law. And I'm sure Oscar is recovering well in my Kelesa's tank.

With that now there are a total of 7 tank mates of Kelesa.

So far so good, not really any fight yet. Just that they all have to be fast in order to get food as I'm feeding them with super worms, one by one. So far Kelesa is still the winner!

Update

Just a quick update.

The pH reading is around 7.2 now, as I didn't change too much water these days as adviced by the expert.

Feeding Kelesa and mates mostly on worms and river prawns. Been trying dried prawn but Kelesa somehow refuse to swallow, after biting just vomit out again.

Added the PSB Bacteria solution and black water on 14 March, and will continue adding it at least once a week for the good of the water quality for my Kelesa.

Water Change & Adjustment

Yesterday I tried to took out all coral chip and remain one bag of it in the filter system, and added PH Down solution after water change 10% with filtered water (which pH is around 7.2)

Today I bought a big bag of ceramic rings to replace the coral chips taken out yesterday. Checked the pH which is around 7.4 at 29 Degree Celsius.

Hope slowly can maintain the water pH around 6.5 - 7.0, which will be good to my Kelesa.

I just bought the PSB Bacteria and black water solutions, will add them in tomorrow.

Moved Tank

The expert came late today as he can't get a truck to bring my new 6x3 feet aquarium stand. He arrived around 1230 and they finished the tank moving, filter setting and cleaning around 1730. All together there are 4 persons helping up with the job.

Here's the photo I shoot just before they remove kelesa and mates, dismantle equipment & piping and empty the water:

Here's the containers to hold the existing waters (another bigger fibre tank which is not in the photo was used too):

Here's my Kelesa:

Here's the photo I took after the tank is moved and settled:

There are still some re-arrangement and cleaning works to be done tomorrow (both internal and external of tank). Hopefully I'll be free tomorrow.

'Site Visit' & Water Change

Today the expert who's going to move my tank to new stand came for a visit to determine materials to bring tomorrow and modification he's going to do tomorrow.

I did a 20% water change in the evening and stop giving food to my Kelesa to prepare for tomorrow changing which might stress Kelesa a bit.

Hope everything gonna be smooth and fine tomorrow.
